BIPOC Mountain Collective

BIPOC Mountain Collective is a year-round affinity network designed to make outdoor recreation feel more welcoming for Black, Indigenous, and other people of color. Colorado is central to the organization’s activity, with communities around Denver, Aurora, and Colorado Springs alongside chapters farther afield. Its winter calendar includes group days at Loveland and Arapahoe Basin and larger gatherings such as Springfest at Breckenridge.

The collective is not limited to skiing and snowboarding. Mountain biking, camping, and water sports carry the community through warmer months, and membership is organized through an online group platform. The emphasis is on finding partners, building representation, and creating a social environment where participants can enjoy mountain sports without the exclusion or cultural isolation they may encounter elsewhere.
