About CU Boulder Freeskiing
CU Freeskiing has pushed beyond traditional alpine racing since 1990. Its sport-club program serves both skiers and snowboarders through big-mountain and park-and-pipe coaching, and athletes can move between programs rather than choosing a single discipline. The local team gives newcomers a route into competition; the travel team supports riders chasing higher-level Freeride World Qualifier starts.
Big-mountain training covers line choice, fluidity, mountain awareness, and competition through the IFSA collegiate tour and selected FWQ events. Park-and-pipe athletes work on jumps, rails, slopestyle, and pipe skills, supported by dryland, diving, and trampoline sessions. Competition is available but not mandatory in every program, making the club as much about structured progression as podiums.
