About Denver Pioneers Ski Team
Denver’s Pioneers are a recruited NCAA ski program, not a student club. Men’s and women’s alpine and Nordic athletes compete together for team points in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association and at the NCAA Championships, while also entering FIS, Nor-Am, and SuperTour races as their calendars allow.
The program’s Denver campus identity is paired with a distributed on-snow footprint. Alpine athletes train at Loveland and race slalom and giant slalom across the West; Nordic skiers use Colorado venues such as Maloit Park and Howelsen Hill alongside national sites. DU regularly hosts an invitational with separate alpine and cross-country weekends, giving the Pioneers a home meet despite the city campus being far from a single dedicated ski venue.
