DU Club Mountain Sports
DU’s Club Mountain Sports umbrella connects three different snow communities: collegiate slalom, giant-slalom, and freestyle racers; resort-focused freeride skiers and snowboarders; and an Alpine Club that organizes backcountry ski outings.

About DU Club Mountain Sports
Club Mountain Sports is the University of Denver’s home for student-led outdoor teams, and its snow offerings are intentionally split by purpose. Club Ski trains and races in slalom, giant slalom, and freestyle on collegiate circuits. Club Freeride brings skiers and snowboarders together for resort trips, park sessions, and competitions. The long-running Alpine Club organizes backcountry skiing alongside hiking, backpacking, and climbing.
All current DU undergraduate and graduate students may join, and most clubs welcome a wide ability range. Dues help cover trips, equipment, competitions, and events; introductory activities can be attended before committing. This umbrella structure is useful for students because it separates competitive gate racing, lift-served freeriding, and human-powered mountain travel rather than presenting every kind of skiing as one club.
