01 / CLUB PROFILE

About Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club

Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club is the Roaring Fork Valley's oldest and largest youth nonprofit, founded in 1937 and now serving children across a unusually broad range of snow sports. Its programs are built as progressions rather than isolated lessons: young skiers can start in community or pre-development groups, then move into development and competition teams as their interests sharpen.

The scope is the distinguishing feature. AVSC trains alpine racers, Nordic skiers, freestyle and freeride athletes, snowboarders, and ski mountaineers, using Aspen Snowmass mountains, City of Aspen Nordic trails, and Spring Gulch. Need-based scholarships support local access, while the upper end of the pipeline prepares athletes for Junior Nationals, collegiate teams, national teams, and international competition.
