Crested Butte Nordic Team

Crested Butte Nordic Team is the youth arm of Crested Butte Nordic, offering after-school snow programs for ages 4–18. Younger groups learn through games and exploration; Devo athletes develop classic and skate skills and can try racing; the competition team travels the Rocky Mountain Nordic Junior National Qualifier circuit. Recreation options also introduce biathlon and backcountry travel awareness, giving children more than one way to stay engaged.

The team's home trail system and community race calendar are central advantages. Crested Butte hosts large regional junior weekends on Ruthie's Run, and local volunteers make those events possible. The broader Nordic organization also stages public biathlon expos with infrared and live-fire components, making an otherwise specialized sport visible to families before athletes commit to a team track.
