Southwest Nordic Ski Club

Southwest Nordic Ski Club is a Los Alamos, New Mexico nonprofit whose service area extends into southern Colorado. Under a cooperative agreement with the Santa Fe National Forest, volunteers groom and maintain Cañada Bonita, a free trail system anchored by the historic Guaje Canyon Trail. The organization began as Los Alamos Nordic Ski Club in the 1970s and also works on trail stewardship during the snow-free months.

Its activities range from adult classic and skate clinics to tours, group outings, moonlight skis, and off-season gatherings. The free children's program starts with summer conditioning, welcomes committed participants rather than selecting only racers, and gets on snow with the first workable coverage. For Colorado users, this is best understood as a Four Corners regional partner rather than a Colorado-based club.
