About Winter Park Competition Center
The Winter Park Competition Center began as the Winter Park Ski Club in 1962 and became part of resort operations in 1982. That structure gives its athletes unusual access to mountain-operations staff and a full-time professional events crew, strengthening both daily training and hosted competitions. Winter programs cover all mountain, alpine, big-mountain freeride, park and pipe, moguls, Nordic, and multiple snowboard disciplines.
Athletes can enter through development teams, build toward competitive programs, or apply to a full-time academy that coordinates intensive training with school-year academics. The Nordic ladder alone runs from games-based learn-to-ski through regional racing and an October-to-April academy. Adult all-mountain and mogul programs, summer mountain biking, sports psychology, and need-based support through the Grand Foundation extend the center beyond a conventional junior race club.
