Adaptive Sports Center

Adaptive Sports Center has delivered outdoor programs for people with disabilities since 1987. Its winter home is the 27,000-square-foot Kelsey Wright Building at the base of Mt. Crested Butte, with ski-in, ski-out access, assessment and equipment-fit areas, and space designed around participants rather than retrofitted after the fact.

On the mountain, instructors match teaching style and equipment to individual goals. The fleet includes mono-skis, bi-skis, and standard alpine equipment with additional adaptations; snowboard lessons are also tailored across a wide range of disabilities. Off the lifts, a partnership with Crested Butte Nordic Center opens groomed trails to Nordic sit-skiers and snowshoers for half- or full-day instruction. Programs can include family and friends, not just the enrolled athlete.
