Foresight Ski Guides

Foresight Adventure Guides for the Blind is focused on one population and one relationship: a blind or low-vision skier paired with a trained sighted guide. Volunteer guides complete intensive preparation centered on safety, communication, companionship, and helping each participant ski with greater confidence and independence. The program primarily uses groomed terrain and resort services at Vail and Beaver Creek.

Foresight’s support reaches beyond verbal guiding on the hill. It can arrange the components that often make a ski trip inaccessible before a participant reaches the lift—tickets, suitable equipment, local transportation, and lodging assistance. That trip-level approach separates the organization from a standard adaptive lesson provider. The goal is a safe, comfortable challenge in which the participant remains the skier and the guide supplies reliable visual information and partnership.
