About Ignite Adaptive Sports
Ignite Adaptive Sports brings Front Range participants to Eldora for individualized winter instruction. The activity menu is unusually wide for one mountain: downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sit-skiing, and ski biking. Athletes of all ages and disabilities can participate, and financial aid is designed to keep cost from determining who gets on snow.
Every lesson is led by trained volunteers; the organization says volunteers deliver 100 percent of its snowsport instruction. Private lesson fees include the Eldora lift ticket, required adaptive equipment, and the instructor, while first-time participants can use a reduced Discover Ignite rate. U.S. military veterans with disabilities participate free through a dedicated grant-supported program. The operating season generally runs January through March, Wednesday through Sunday.
